Prof. (Dr.) Mohit Gupta is a Pharmaceutical Chemistry academic with more than 16 years of teaching, research and administrative experience across leading pharmacy institutions of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. He currently serves as Principal & Professor and Controller of Examination at Guru Nanak College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dehradun, and previously led the School of Pharmacy and Research at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University as Professor & Dean.
His research focuses on the synthesis, characterization and pharmacological evaluation of novel heterocyclic compounds — including phenoxy benzoyl methane, coumarin and Schiff base derivatives — supported by computational and in-silico drug design. His work has resulted in granted patents in India and Australia, registered designs in India and the UK, peer-reviewed publications, and textbooks written to the PCI syllabus.
Identification, modification and evaluation of new lead compounds: synthesis of newer heterocycles and establishment of their SAR studies. Development of newer organic synthetic methodologies for green chemistry.
Use of computational methods to find new lead and bioactive compounds. Development of in-vitro and in-vivo biological screening methods for new lead and bioactive compounds.
Prediction of physico-chemical parameters, in-silico and in-vitro studies of drug-like properties of lead compounds.
